Meet the Artist:

Tatiana Gabriel Laplanche

Tatiana Laplanche was born in Forest Hills, New York to Haitian parents Carole and Harold Laplanche.  Tatiana’s parents have been Haitian art collectors since 1974. With not a single wall space left uncovered by beautiful art it was like growing up in a Haitian art gallery for her. She was influenced by Elie Lesco, Essud Fungcap, Emanuel Dostaly, and Christian Sajous.  These artists were in and out of the Laplanche home from the time Tatiana was five.  Their influence continues to inspire Tatiana, and has driven her to become an artist herself as well as a collector. Her growing collection and her innovative and unique pieces have become a topic of interest with many Haitian and non Haitian art collectors.

Growing up Tatiana studied the arts from elementary school through college, and excelled due to her Haitian art influence partnered with her own creativity and need to be original.  She attended Holy Trinity High School for the arts and graduated college with a double major in the arts and psychology. She learned to work with oil, acrylic, and water paints, sometimes using them alone or combining two or three together. She also used natural elements from Mother Nature to create one of a kind colors and textures in her paintings.  Tatiana also creates one of a kind painting on vases, glass, and wood with oil and acrylic paints.  After college she began doing multiple art and trade shows in Manhattan, NY, Charlotte, NC, Hampton, VA, Miami, FL, and in the Poconos, PA.

Her art was exhibited at “Energie Nouvelle” an exhibition of Haitian art at Kenkelba Gallery, a project hosted by the Consulate General of Haiti in NY, New York.

Tatiana’s art has crossed over and has caught the attention of many music executives, hip hop, r&b and gospel artist. Her passion for the arts has introduced a different world to the older and new generation art lovers.
